B. Mass spectra of partially methylated alditol acetates and alditol acetates

For GLC-MS a Varian MAT 311 gas chromatograph mass spectrometer - Spectro system SS-100 was used. For GLC an OV-225 packed column (200 cm X 2.0 mm) with a flow of 15-20 mL He/min was used. The oven tempoerature was programmed between 170°-200°C (2°C/min) and injector and interface were around 210°C. MS conditions uesd were: ionization potential 70 eV, acceleration voltage 3 kV, emission current 1000 µA, ion source temperature 160°C. Computer conditions used were: exponential scan speed 4 sec/decade. Sampling rate 6 kHz.
